Connect OrcaSlicer to Yantra Bhavan

Add Yantra Bhavan to OrcaSlicer as an OctoPrint print host, so every slice you send becomes a priced draft on the right quote.

Checked with OrcaSlicer 2.5.0-dev on Linux, 2026-09-30. Menus may be named or placed differently in other versions.

You set this up once. After that, every slice you send from OrcaSlicer becomes a priced draft line on the right quote.

  1. Create a print-host key

On Slicer connections, choose Connect. Name it after the computer, for example Workshop PC — OrcaSlicer, and pick Slicer (print host). Copy the key — it starts with ybph_ and is shown only once. Also copy the host address shown under Slicer setup.

You have two things copied: a host address ending in /api/print-host, and a key starting with ybph_.

  2. Add the strip tool (recommended)

Download it from sending a slice back. In OrcaSlicer, open the process settings, switch to Advanced or Expert mode, and go to Others → Post-processing scripts. Paste the tool's full path. On Windows, put the path in quotes if it contains spaces. Save the preset.

The saved process preset shows the tool's path.

  3. Add Yantra Bhavan as an OctoPrint host

Select your printer, then open its connection settings — the Wi-Fi / network icon next to the printer name. Set the host type to OctoPrint. Paste the host address into the address field and the ybph_ key into the API key field. Leave anything else empty. Press Test.

OrcaSlicer reports that the connection works. If it doesn't, check the address was pasted in full, with https://.

  4. Send a slice from a quote

On the RFQ, choose Open in → OrcaSlicer. Slice the part with the settings you would really use, then choose Send to print host (or Upload and print — both work; nothing is printed). Don't rename the file.

    OrcaSlicer reports the upload succeeded.

How to know it worked

The slicer saying "uploaded" only means the file arrived. Check two things:

  1. On the quote, a new draft line from OrcaSlicer is in the bill of materials, showing the print time and a proposed unit price.
  2. On Slicer connections, the key's Last used is a moment ago and Last upload reads Matched to a quote.

If Last upload reads Waiting in inbox instead, the file lost its quote code on the way. See troubleshooting.

Keep the file name

A file opened from a quote has a name ending in a YB-… code, which is how the slice finds its quote. OrcaSlicer's output name template (filename_format) keeps it by default, because the default starts with . If you have changed that template, make sure is still in it. The strip tool also writes the code inside the file, as a backup.

Binary G-code

Binary G-code (.bgcode) can't be read. If your printer profile turns it on, turn it off for the profile you send to Yantra Bhavan.
