What leaves your machine
Buyers are priced from measurements before any file moves. A seller's slice is read and discarded, and a print-host key can only upload.
If you are buying
You install nothing. You get a price in the browser, and the first thing we use is your design's measurements — its size, volume and surface area — worked out on your own computer. Measurements describe how big a part is without containing its shape.
The design file itself is uploaded only when you ask workshops for a price. It is stored encrypted, and a workshop can open it only after you have sent it a request and it has accepted any confidentiality terms you set. Every time a workshop downloads it, that is recorded. The full detail is in data security and your IP.
If you are selling: what a slice sends
When your slicer sends a slice back, Yantra Bhavan reads it and then discards the file. It is never stored. What is kept is a short record:
- the print time, filament length, volume and weight, and the layer count, as your slicer wrote them;
- the names of the objects on the plate, and a small preview image if the slicer included one;
- the file's name, size and fingerprint, and which quote it matched;
- the slicer's name and version, which the slicer sends with each upload.
The toolpath — your print settings turned into printer moves — is not kept even when it arrives. With the strip tool set up, it never leaves your computer at all.
Some slicers send more about themselves than they need to. ElegooSlicer, for example, sends a fixed identifier for your installation, your operating system and your language with every request. We don't store those.
What a print-host key can do
A print-host key sits in your slicer's settings, so it is built to be harmless if someone copies it: it can upload a slice to your shop and do nothing else. It cannot read a quote, a part, a buyer's file or anything about your shop. If you think one has been copied, revoke it on Slicer connections — it stops working on the next request.
What connected software receives
Software you connect with a third-party key (for example your own ERP) acts as you, for your shop only. It can read your RFQs and quotes, including the buyer's name and email — the same details your dashboard shows you — and can download a buyer's file only where you already have access to it. Connect only software you trust, and revoke its key when you stop using it.
