Can I upload a STEP file?

Yes — STEP and STP are read directly, which matters because tolerances and named faces survive the export in a way they do not in a mesh. A binary STL works too.

Why is the price an estimate when 3D printing is not?

Because nobody has programmed your part yet. The toolpath comes from standard settings and the stock is sized around a bounding box; a machinist looking at the file may hold it in fewer setups, or more.

Can I send an assembly?

Not as one file. An assembly is refused rather than quoted as whichever body happened to be first — export each part separately.

What to send us

.stl.step.stp

STL files must be binary. An ASCII STL is refused rather than read incorrectly, so export binary from your CAD package.

IGES is not supported yet — export STEP or a binary STL from your CAD package.

What it is good at

Parts that have to hold a tolerance and a surface finish
Real engineering metals — aluminium, stainless, titanium, brass
Load-bearing parts, because the material is wrought stock rather than built up in layers

What people order

Housings, mounts and manifolds
Shafts, spacers and bushings
Fixtures and tooling plates
Machined faces on parts that are otherwise printed

What to watch out for

Internal square corners do not exist — a tool is round, so specify a corner radius or a relief
Deep narrow pockets need a long thin tool and get expensive fast
Assemblies are refused: send one solid body per part, not a STEP file containing several

How the price is worked out

CNC prices are estimates. They are worked out from a toolpath generated with each shop’s standard settings, and from a billet sized automatically around your part.

The shop reviews your file and confirms the final price before any work starts — so treat the number as close, not as a commitment.

GST is not included in the quoted price; it is added later, in the order.
