Orders from your online store

Connect a Shopify store, map each order line to a process and machine once, follow it on the floor, and ship with tracking that goes back to the store.

If you sell on your own Shopify store, its orders can come straight to your shop here. You decide how each item is made, the work goes to your production floor, and when you ship, the courier and tracking link go back to Shopify so your buyer is told.

Connect your store

  1. Select the shop that should receive the orders, then open Integrations and press Connect Shopify store.
  2. Enter the store's myshopify.com address and approve the connection in Shopify. You come back to Integrations, where the store shows as Active.

Your plan must include both integrations and the production floor. Each shop links to one Shopify store. If you run several Shopify stores, connect each one to its own shop.

Selling on WooCommerce instead

On Integrations press Connect on the WooCommerce card and enter your store's https address. You approve the connection in your store's WordPress admin. Your site needs pretty permalinks and an SSL certificate, and you must be a store administrator.

Only paid orders (Processing or Completed) come in. An order waiting for payment, such as a bank transfer, appears here once it is paid. We never change your order to On hold while we make it, because WooCommerce uses that status for unpaid orders. Your order stays Processing, and when you ship, the courier and tracking number are added to the order in WooCommerce.

Map each line once

New orders appear under Store orders within seconds. An order marked Needs mapping has a line we do not yet know how to make. Open it, press Map, and pick the process and the machine profile from your rate cards. Keep Send to the floor now ticked to create the production job straight away.

  • Remember for this SKU saves the choice, so the next order of that product arrives already mapped. Save it for all your stores, or only for this one when the same SKU means something different elsewhere.
  • Create jobs automatically next time sends future orders of that SKU to the floor with no review. Use it only for products whose process and machine never change.
  • Lines you do not make, such as gift wrap or a shipping fee, are Ignored. When every line is mapped or ignored, the order is Ready.

You can remap a line until its job starts on the floor. After that it is locked, so a running job never changes machine under an operator.

Make it and ship it

Jobs run on the production floor like any other. When the order is Ready and made, press Ship on the order, enter the courier, the tracking number and the tracking link. The order shows Fulfilled in store once Shopify has accepted the tracking.

Shipping from Shopify instead

Whoever ships, Shopify shows the order on hold while you make it, so nobody fulfils it by mistake, and ready to fulfil once every job is complete. If you would rather ship from Shopify, open Integrations, press Reconnect on the store and set Shipping happens in to your Shopify store. Fulfil the order in Shopify as usual: its courier and tracking appear here, the order becomes Shipped, and the Ship button is hidden so it is not sent twice. Only the hold we placed is ever released; a hold you added yourself stays.

If something does not work

  • The store shows Needs reauth: the app was removed from Shopify, so no new orders arrive. Connect the store again from Integrations.
  • The store cancelled an order: jobs that had not started are cancelled. Jobs already running are put on hold, and the order shows On hold, so you decide whether to finish or scrap the work.
  • Mapped, but no job was created: the message says why. Fix it, then press Send to floor on the line.
