Yantra Bhavan vs AstroPrint
Cloud slicing for a lab, or scheduling for a floor that runs eight processes.
The company that put a slicer in the browser first, still strong in education — and quiet through two changes of ownership.
The short version
AstroPrint pioneered cloud slicing and remains a solid multi-brand platform with unusually detailed permissions for classrooms.
It has changed hands twice and its feature set has moved little compared with the rest of the category.
It is printers only, and it does not bring you work.
Side by side

| Slicing | Not part of Production Floor. The operator prepares the job on their own machine. | Cloud slicing in the browser, which the product pioneered. |
| Where the work comes from | Orders arrive from the Yantra Bhavan marketplace. You do not need a storefront of your own for work to appear in the queue. | Files uploaded by your own users. |

Cloud slicing is genuinely useful and genuinely not ours
Preparing a job in the browser means an operator does not need the right slicer, the right profile and the right version on the right laptop. AstroPrint solved that early and still does it well. Production Floor does not slice at all — it plans and tracks work, and assumes the job file arrives prepared.
Pace of development is worth weighing
AstroPrint has been through two ownership changes and its capability set has moved slowly next to SimplyPrint or Printago. That is not a defect and an established product has its own virtues, but if AI detection or unattended chaining matter to you, look at where each product has spent the last two years.
